Given the stellar lineup of speakers (and attendees) for Social Media Marketing World, there is certainly no shortage of interesting people to meet at this year’s event.
Next month, thousands of marketers from all walks of life will gather in San Diego for Social Media Examiner’s highly anticipated annual conference.
This will be my first time attending, and so I’ve been doing some pre-conference networking to get a sense of what to expect. In doing this, I’ve discovered a spectacular community of professionals, and so I thought it would be helpful to capture some of the personalities that will be in attendance! Check them out:
Christin is an all-around gem. I had the privilege of chatting with her a few weeks ago about the path she’s taken to where she is today (which is so interesting, by the way). As an aspiring community manager myself, Christin is definitely someone I look up to. She is community manager for both Convince and Convert, a full-service digital marketing organization led by none other than Jay Baer AND V3Broadsuite, an integrated digital comms agency led by Shelly Kramer and Daniel Newman. She expertly curates both communities with grace, witty humour and most importantly, an open mind.
Our team met Carlos last year at Social Tools Summit in San Francisco, where he delivered an excellent presentation on analyzing the business value of social media programs. It’s safe to say that we are looking forward to hearing him speak once again at SMMW! Carlos brings with him a wealth of experience, from leading digital media programs for PepsiCo, Coca-Cola and Unilever, to his role at BMC Software as Head of Global Social Media.
Maggie Schneider Huston
We are big fans of Maggie here at PostBeyond. Maggie is the Senior Content Manager at Oracle Social. Before joining Oracle, she held assignment editor positions at The Weather Channel and CNN. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Maggie on a webinar, where she helped to answer 9 critical questions about employee advocacy, alongside Neal Schaffer.
And to top it all off, Maggie is a three time Peabody award-winning journalist who draws from her diverse background of experience to deliver an exceptional content experience for readers on social. Don’t forget to say hello!
Madalyn is a highly respected Twitter Marketing Strategist in the digital space. I actually met Madalyn last week in one of my favourite Twitter chats, #ContentChat, and she was so engaging! She was keen to share tips and tricks with all of us, which leads me to believe that she will be an especially great speaker at SMMW. Madalyn will be presenting on how to use Twitter cards to grow your audience – something I am definitely interested in learning more about.
Mark is a fountain of knowledge. By trade he may be a social media strategist, but it doesn’t end there. Author of multiple best-selling social media marketing books, a highly sought-after speaker and acclaimed college educator, Mark will be another presenter at SMMW you don’t want to miss. In addition to delivering a keynote on breakthrough ideas for growth marketing, he will also be sitting on a panel to discuss the future of content marketing.
Neal has left an impressive footprint in the social media marketing space. Neal, recognized as one of marketing’s top ten thought leaders by CMO.com, is a celebrated leader in the social media industry. Our team attended Social Tools Summit this past fall, a conference co-founded by Neal, and had the best time! We learned so much and met fantastic people – we have no doubt that SMMW will be much the same.
Neal will be speaking on the powerful marketing engine that is Twitter, and trust us, you don’t want to miss this session – he knows his stuff! Check out his blog, Maximize Social Business, for a sneak preview.
I met Ian last month over a #CMWorld Twitter chat where he led a conversation around live streaming for marketing. He readily answered any questions that came his way and was thoroughly engaging throughout the chat. Ian is a celebrated tech and social media blogger, and is known for his top-quality reviews on a range of social tools. He is the founder of RazorSocial, an online community that provides insight on how to leverage tech tools to drive business value.
Heidi is the real deal, and I can’t wait to be front row and centre for her workshop on how to write quality blog posts efficiently. This is something that nearly every content creator struggles with at some point in their career. Prior to starting Riverside Marketing Strategies, Heidi held several senior marketing positions, setting her up well to go on and work with big names such as New York Times Digital, AccuWeather.com and CheapTickets.
Heidi is well respected across the board – as a speaker, author and educator. See if you can steal a moment of her time at SMMW and don’t miss her session!
